Hristina Tasheva

Born in 1976, Varna, Bulgaria.
Lives and works in The Netherlands.

Education:

2008 - .... Gerrit Rietveld Academy, BFA, Photography, Amsterdam.
2003 - 2004 Course of photography and filming, Varna, Bulgaria.
1996 - 2000 BA University of Economics, Varna, Bulgaria.

Residency:

2004 - 2008 Guest-student in the studio of Dutch photographer Leo Erken.

Documentary:

2007 The premiere of the documentary "De huizen van Hristina" on IDFA. With this film the director Suzanne Raes illustrates Hristina Tasheva's life and work in isolation, creating a portrait of thousands illegal emigrants living in The Netherlands in similar position. In that time, in addition to "De huizen van Hristina" was created digital platform for illegal artists - www.art2stay.nl, inspired from Suzanne Raes and supported by IDTV and Human Television.

Publications about the documentary "De huizen van Hristina" and her work were issued in Vrij Nederland, Het Parool, NRC Handelsblad, Trouw, De Helling and other internet sources. Information about her work could be found also on the website www.art2stay.nl
